RYAM (Rayonier Advanced Materials) announced layoffs of 425 employees on August 27, 2026. Halting the Témiscaming, Quebec complex on September 15 for an undetermined period, idling the town's largest employer. The company blames the 50% US tariff on Canadian goods that took effect August 22.
