Texas Family Initiative announced layoffs of 307 employees on September 8, 2026. Texas moved a foster care contract to other agencies, and the Dallas nonprofit is cutting 307 jobs including 141 case managers. Most of the affected staff are expected to be hired by the successor agencies.
