Thomson Reuters announced layoffs of 500 employees in July 13, 2026. Cutting up to 500 engineering roles, 5.2% of its 9,400-person operations and technology unit, as it shifts toward AI. It plans to hire more than 250 mostly senior, AI-native engineers over the next two years.
