Samsung Electronics America announced layoffs of 839 employees on July 20, 2026. Cutting 739 jobs at its Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey campus and about 100 more in Plano, Texas as it moves its US consumer electronics headquarters to Plano by the end of 2026. The New Jersey WARN notice lists transfer of operations as the reason and phases terminations from September 30 into October; most affected staff were offered relocation. Lands the same quarter the chip division posted record profit.
